Svendborg Brakes is very proud to have worked together with FKC
Lake Shore and delivered the brake systems for the construction
hoists used to build the new One World Trade Center also called the
Freedom Tower.
There are a total of 4 x construction hoists, and each hoist has
a brake system consisting of both a low speed and a high speed
brake for increased safety.
For the low speed brake, Svendborg has delivered 1 x BSFI
3100-S-200 and for the high speed brake Svendborg has delivered 1 x
BSFI 207-S-106. All brakes are failsafe direct acting brakes
for maximum performance and durability.
The project is being lead by the Port Authority of New York and
New Jersey and is expected completion in 4. quarter 2013.
The project is unlike any other, and represents the freedom of
America, and the new One World Trade Center will be a symbol of
this.
