Crane References

Kosice Steelworks, Slovakia
The Kosice Steelworks is part of the US Stell Group. Svendborg Brakes installed its fail-safe braking systems on three hot-metal cranes in 2001 supplied by KPC a.s. of Brno (in the Czech Republic) - one of the biggest Czech crane manufacturers.
The systems have been installed on three hot-metal gantry cranes - 2 x 250 tons and one 280 tons. All brakes are installed directly on the rope drums (slow-side brakes, high torque) and have emergency braking function. The brakes are in constant use, and have to cope with an environment which is hot, dusty and very dry.

Grab crane in Schutterwald, Germany
Automatic grab crane in a gravel pit equipped with a new brake system on the main and closing hoists. The crane had been modified to automatic operation earlier and is used as a stockyard grab. Due to the high amount of cycles and expected life time expectancy the relatively small brakes have double extended spring packs.
Conversion from electromagnetic to hydraulic brakes was necessary as the old brakes were insufficient to hold the load.

JASO Tower crane, Spain
JASO Equipos de Obra y Construcciones, s.l., Spain.
The boom hoist on this J80 tower luffing crane is equipped with a BSFI 330 MS as parking and emergency brake.
The compactness and reliability of both brake and hydraulic unit, together with the short release time of 0.1 sec., backed up by the record delivery time of less than two weeks, made Svendborg Brakes the best option.
